St. Patrick's Day

I started off the morning of St. Patrick's Day with my green food coloring:
We had green pancakes, green scrambled eggs, green milk and watermelon in a green bowl.
Don't I look awesome with my bed head and no make-up, I was super pumped that Jeff wanted to capture this look, I had to cover my boobs (or current lack there-of) because I was still bra-less...
Outfits for the day:
Headed to the gym, Berkeley was finished with the pictures:
After breakfast, we headed to the gym. We drove separately so we could get the oil changed later. We stopped by a garage sale on the way to the gym and I got some clothes for Cheyenne and a little lower case letter work book. Then we went to the gym, but there was only an hour left in child care. Jeff and I did bench together, then I did a 35 minute tempo run at 7:30 pace (trying to get back into better cardiovascular shape). I almost ate it on the treadmill because my shoe came untied. Yesterday I almost ate it flying down the hill in our neighborhood pushing the girls in the blue double jogging stroller (Cheyenne calls it the Blue Devil jogging stroller... kinda sounds the same). I am glad I caught myself because the girls would of crashed and I would have eaten some serious pavement. I am also glad I caught myself at the gym because that also would have been a little humiliating. After my run, Jeff had already picked up the girls so I didn't have time to do any more arms and I was DRIPPING sweat. Bleh!

We went to get the oil changed next. We went to Crazy Rays and it was only $45 total for both of our cars and they include a free indoor and outdoor carwash. Um... best deal ever. I worked with Cheyenne on her new letter workbook inside while we were waiting, then we headed over to the windows to watch our cars go through the car wash machine. When they finished with our cars they were SO clean, I should have taken a picture.

Then we stopped by a friend in the ward's house to get a free bookshelf. Then we went to Burger King. We had a coupon for a B1g1 Whopper. We got two whoppers, two packs of nuggets for under 6 bucks. Then, since it was St. Patrick's Day, we got four free packs of fries with GREEN ketchup! It was awesome. The girls also got crowns and in true Berkeley fashion, it stayed on her head for about 3 seconds. We came home and the girls got some lime sherbet. I kept asking Cheyenne if she liked it and she would say, "It's green ice cream!" She never did say if she liked it or not, but she ate the whole bowl so I think she was a fan.
A girl from my team last year asked me to judge their "Mr. Irresistible" pageant which is like a male beauty pageant kind of. It was at Oconee Civic Center for Oconee High School. It was really fun, but really hard, because we had to pick out of 25 boys and there wasn't a talent or anything so we didn't really have any criteria to pick from. It was fun though. And I got this smart water, tons of cookies and a little gift bag for doing it:) I of course had to wear green, because it was on St. Paddy's day!
It was the best St. Patrick's Day yet. Holidays are so much more fun with kids!

P.S. FYI, I just added like 10 new blog posts today, this whole page is new, in case you are interested in catching up on us:)

New friend

So one of the girls on my team this year has a little sister who is exactly Cheyenne's age. Cheyenne and Berkeley had so much fun playing with her at the tournament. The next day Cheyenne asked me about five times, "Mommy, can Jane come over to our house to play tomorrow?" So we had her over for a little play date. They played for a couple hours and finished off with a couple episodes of Caillou:

Jeffrey the Pirate

Cheyenne loves when Daddy becomes "Jeffrey the Pirate." Here they are on their ship, be careful, the water below is full of crocodiles!! I got to play a crocodile trying to snap them up! I love that Jeff is such a good dad and he loves to spend QT with his girls!

Peachtree Classic

My sweet family came to watch me coach in the Peachtree Classic.

Captains meeting before the game:

I like this picture, because you can see Cheyenne and then also me coaching in the background:

By the way, I don't usually wear boots when I coach, but my skinny jeans were the only thing I had that looked cute with the polo shirt and I didn't have any shoes to wear with my jeans that matched other than high heels, so I figured boots were a better option. I wont be wearing them again, because about 100 people made comments about them- annoying. Oh well, next tournament will be shorts weather anyway.

Library Storytime

Above is Cheyenne next to two of her friends in her gymnastics class (they are in the older group though).

Cheyenne giving me a puppet show:

When Grandpa Bob came to visit, he got to see Cheyenne in her gymnastics class. Then we went to the library for story time after. Jeff also took the day off of work as a personal day to hang out with us. Later that day I had a dermatologist appointment for a mole patrol and he didn't see anything concerning so that was great news!

Grandpa Bob Visit

My dad came to visit for a week which was really fun. When he got here I was recovering from strep, so I felt bad I didn't go to the airport to pick him up, but luckily Jeff and the girls were there to welcome him. We had a great time relaxing and playing with Grandpa. Dad was so sweet to cut up and bag my 40 lbs of chicken that I got on sale, because I was feeling too sick. Monday we took dad to the gym, went to Moe's and got to do Family Night. The rest of the week we stayed up late watching tv and just relaxing. Friday night we stayed in a hotel, because I had a vb tournament Saturday and Sunday. The girls were so excited to stay in a hotel again. Saturday morning Dad got to come to some of my volleyball tournament and then Jeff took him to the airport to go home. It was a great trip and it had been over a year since I had seen my dad so it was great to see him!

Reading

Here is Cheyenne reading to Berkeley:
Makes me so happy!

So I read my friend's blog about letter factory and I bought it. After only a couple of times watching it, Cheyenne knows the sound that every letter makes. She loves for me to tell her a word and she tells me what letter it starts with. Sometimes she gets confused if it is two consonants that begin the word and will say the second one (for example tree, she might say r instead of t). But, mostly she gets them right! It is so fun! I am going to try to start teaching her sight words soon. I hadn't really heard of them before, but my friends were talking about it at Relief Society, so I want to try. I don't really know how I am going to teach them, but Cheyenne is really into letters and sounds right now, so I think I should keep teaching her new things. Cheyenne is really bright and picks up on things really quickly. I wish I was a little less lazy about teaching her new things.

Dress-up

If you haven't seen this video of Katy Perry on sesame street with elmo, watch it (especially if you have a three year old):

Cheyenne asks for it over and over and ever since has wanted to play dress up a lot more. Here is Berkeley and Cheyenne playing dress-up in the playroom:

I made that little picture schedule on the wall during football and basketball seasons so we could learn the days of the week by what days they got to see daddy, what days we went to what sporting events, what day was family night, etc. Love Berkeley's little kissy face!

Hairstyle

So this hairstyle was supposed to just be a side braid in the front of her head. I wanted to try only pulling from one side. I did and I couldn't find a good stopping point and I just kept braiding. It looked kind of weird so I pulled it up into a pony tail bun thing and I actually think it turned out really cute!

I will be so sad if Cheyenne ever decides to not let me do her hair... it is my favorite part of having girls! Thankfully she still lets me pick out her outfit everyday! Although, lately she has been requesting everything red, because red is her favorite color. She doesn't really have any red clothes, so maybe I should get her some. On the other hand if I get her something red she will probably wear it everyday and never want to take it off, so maybe we are better off just not having anything red!

First Big Haircut for Cheyenne

BEFORE:
DURING:

AFTER:

Okay, so Cheyenne actually got her first haircut already, which I already blogged about, but that was just a little trim. This actually happened before Valentine's day, but I am behind! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cheyenne's long hair, but it just got so tangly and she would be overdramatic and scream and cry every time I brushed it. We took her to the Beauty school on our way to work out, which proved to not be the best idea. The girl took an entire HOUR just to cut her hair! Poor Cheyenne was so good, but she was having a hard time holding still at the end (understandably!). The girl was sweet and gave Cheyenne a little bracelet that she makes for the little kids hair she cuts. The girl did do a good job, but to be honest I don't really like the haircut. I asked for it layered, but it was my fault I wasn't specific enough. When Cheyenne's hair grew out, she had these really beautiful natural subtle layers. Well the girl who cut her hair totally went 90's Rachel from Friends 30 year old hair cut. The layers are way too chunky and the shortest layer was like to her ears! Its okay though, it will grow out and then I think I would like to just stick with one length. She, of course, still looks adorable, but some days I miss her long hair. Thankfully, the shorter hair doesn't get as tangly either and is pretty quick to brush out.
