SAVAGES SAVAGES!!!!

...barely even human!! Pocahontas anyone?

Well, our good friends, Trent and Amelia Savage paid us a visit this week. We met them through ward basketball a couple of years ago when we lived by UVSC. They are so awesome!! They both just graduated from BYU, Trent with his undergraduate and Amelia with her Masters in accounting. Trent just got into his first choice of dental school at University of Florida, yes they are both smarty pants!!! AND the nicest people and so much fun! They came and we were busy with activities the entire time. I don't think we ever went to bed before midnight the whole time either. Amelia helped me so much with watching Cheyenne and Trent accompanied Jeff on all of his runs and helped us weed and mow the lawn of our new house, thanks guys!

Here are some highlights of the week. Of course, we had to visit the University of Georgia stadium. Here is a picture of Jeff and Trent by the G, I should have gotten one of Trent gator chomping the G with his arms, darnit...

We walked around the entire stadium to try to find a way in. We found one door open, but the security guard said no one was allowed in. At the very end of walking around, we found a gate open and went inside. I was so scared we were going to get arrested! Ha! But, we went in and got some great pictures inside the stadium. We are so sneaky.

Another day, we decided to go see Clemson. This was good because Jeff and I hadn't been there yet either. On ESPN they do a taste of the town wherever the main college game is for the day. This is Mac's Drive-in which was featured on Taste of the Town. Trent and Jeff knew all of the worker's names and were so excited to tell them we came all the way from "Washington" and Florida to try their double cheeseburgers. We were all actually very impressed with this fun place and will probably return.

Finally, we went to Clemson's stadium and it was so fun because it was totally open. We just walked in and there were even maintenance people there and they were totally cool, we explored everywhere. This is us by the lucky rock that they touch before the games.

Here is Jeff on the field, he was so bummed he didn't bring his football.

We even got into the place where all the rich people sit to watch the games. I think I would like to go to a game and watch it in the air conditioned room and great view!

Here is Jeff and Cheyenne taking a rest, they had all of this cute funky furniture that I was tempted to take home with us! I love this picture, they are so cute:)

And of course the basketball arena, Little John, was open too, these seats were super comfortable.

It was such a fun week and it went by too fast! Thanks for coming to visit Trent and Amelia and hopefully we can get together again soon. It had been too long:)

Basketball or Basketball??

Because clearly, there are no other choices...

The Melting Pot

We have been wanting to go to the Melting Pot for a fondue date night for a couple of years now. We found out about it when we lived in Salt Lake, but we just never wanted to spend the money, or we were waiting for a very special occasion. Well, the special occasion was my 25th birthday of course! I will be 25 on Friday:) And it helped that Tuesday is 20% off for teachers, police officers, and firefighters. Plus, I signed up for their mailing list, and they sent me a free chocolate fondue for two coupon for my birthday. So after all those discounts, it still turned out to be the most we have ever spent at a restaurant, but since we have been looking forward to it for so long, it was worth it! We probably wont ever go again, but we had so much fun:) We had to take lots of pictures to record our experience. We also drove almost two hours to get there, so it was a big date night for us. We also barely ever go out to eat since we have lived in Elberton, so it was just a little treat for us:) On the drive home, it was getting dark and we started to think about it and realized we were eating in the restaurant for 3 hours, and we even had reservations, so we went in and sat right down. We were pretty much eating the whole time.

We started out with cheese fondue. We got Mexican cheeses. They put the pot in the middle of the table and then bring out the cheese and additives and melt it right in front of you. We got the fiesta cheese style, but it wasn't really spicy. We dipped bread, crackers, apples and veggies in the cheese. Then they brought us each a salad, which were really really good. Then they bring out a different pot of Vegetable broth and heat it really hot and some raw meat and vegetables and you dip the meat and veggies in the pot and it cooks. We got filet mignon, chicken, teriyaki sirloin, shrimp and salmon, they had like 6 bite sized pieces of each meat, then a bowl of potatoes, broccoli and mushrooms. That was the first time in my life I have ever tried Filet Mignon. It was okay, I liked the sirloin better. They also had a ton of sauces to dip them in. For dessert, we got cookies and cream chocolate fondue and they brought out strawberries, bananas, rice krispy treats, brownies, marshmallows, pound cake and cheesecake to dip in the chocolate. They also lit a candle on the cheesecake, so that was nice. It really was fun and Cheyenne was really good the whole time, except toward the middle she started "talking" loudly, so Jeff just held her the rest of the time. I think everyone should experience a dinner at The Melting Pot at some point in their lives!!

BOMBS AWAY

  • She looks so innocent... don't be fooled. I think she is proud of herself! This is probably the fourth or fifth time this has happened to Jeff, and finally I got it on camera. He was playing with Cheyenne, holding her in the air above his head (one sure way to get a smile, and sometimes a laugh out of her). When without any warning she spit up all over him! I was sitting right next to him and when it happened I gasped. I ran to get something to clean it up with and then we both started to laugh. I asked him if I could please get a picture of it, which he wasn't too excited about because then he had to sit there longer with spit-up on his face! But we got the picture and cleaned up the mess:)
  • I decided to run 16 miles tomorrow... I am dreading it. We will see tomorrow if I actually do it.
  • We go to Washington in two and a half weeks, yay:)
  • Here is another picture of Cheyenne playing with her giant stuffed doggy. She loves it!

GRANNY FACE!!

Here it is. Usually her eyes are open though.
