Friday Night Lights

This picture is from the last football game on Friday night, ECCHS vs. Riverside Military Academy.  The week before we had played so badly I was really concerned about the rest of the season and the security of the coaches' jobs.  Just a week later though, they had improved about twenty times.  The team that they played was also a lot
better than the previous week.  We scored at the end of the game with less than a minute to play and we decided to go for 2 and unfortunately didn't get it, so we lost 21-20.  It was such an exciting game and so fun to watch.  The team played so much better than the week before, I think they have the potential to win a few games this season.  Jeff and the other coaches put in tons of time and are working so hard to help the team improve.  There have only been two games so far, but he has gotten home at 3:30 am and 4:30 am respectively.  For those of you who know Jeff well, you know that he loves his sleep so it is a big sacrifice!! I thought Jeff would be getting burned out, but he still loves football more than anything and is loving his job.  We are so lucky that he has found a profession that makes him so happy.  He is going to be coaching basketball as well, so I am excited for the Cheyenne to get here so I have something to keep me busy while he is away.
This is Brent Absher, Jeff met him on his mission to Mexico.  He is living in North Carolina, so he drove three hours to come see Jeff's team play and watch college football on Saturday with Jeff.  It was fun having him here and Jeff was excited to have someone to discuss football with while he watched (who actually knows something, I just know whatever Jeff tells me).  People down here don't think football exists anywhere except the south, and Jeff predicted Utah would beat Michigan and no one believed him.  He has been talking about how much he loves UW and how they were gonna be great this year, so the night didn't end so well as we stayed up past 1 am only to watch the Huskies get killed 41-10.  I felt bad for Jake Locker, because no one could catch any of his passes:(  He is still Jeff's favorite player in college football right now, and Jeff is still a die hard Husky fan, but we are in for a long season!  We also liked Tyrone Willingham and were hoping he would be able to keep his job.  Anyway, that's what is going on around here.  It's funny because before I got married I don't think I had ever watched more than one football game in one day, and now I can spend all day watching with Jeff and actually enjoying myself:) I can feel Jeff and I growing closer everyday, and I thank God everyday that I am able to be married to him.  It's just so amazing to me that I can love someone so much.
P.S.  Later this week will be my 28 week prego pictures:)

Baby Girl Bennum

Click on the name sign that I painted to read our baby's name.  We decided about a month ago and were gonna keep it a secret until she was born, but its too hard for me to keep a secret, I pretty much suck at it.

24 Weeks Pregnant

I am not actually 24 weeks pregnant until tomorrow, but I got the urge to go jogging yesterday.  I went jogging everyday until we moved to Georgia, and I went about three times right after we moved here.  I thought I was done until I had the baby, but for some reason yesterday I wanted to run.  So I did, and amazingly I felt pretty good, but I didn't go more than two miles.  My stomach felt a little crampy, but not as bad as I thought.  So anyway, here I am finally starting to show more!! I am sure I will grow faster and faster toward the end.

I have to share a funny story that happened last night too.  I was sitting on the side of the bed and Jeff was in bed waiting for me to finish putting cocoa butter on my stomach (I know everyone says it doesn't work, but it doesn't kill me to try!).  He was watching me then said, "man you are huge!!"  I was like, "what?"  He goes, "You have gotten really big." Pauses and stares. Then, "that looks uncomfortable!"  Hahhahaha!! I couldn't stop laughing.  I was like "Oh Jeff...."  I know he still loves me!  But he will probably be relieved when she comes out!

Missionaries

We live in a very small town and there are only about 40 active people in our branch.  Therefore, not many people to feed the missionaries.  They like to come over to our house for dinner and to share messages with us (and hang out of course).  We are trying to decide who has the bigger belly... Elder Johnson when pushing out, or me at 6 months pregnant.  You decide.  Elder Johnson is in orange and he is from Centerville, Utah.  He went to Viewmont High School, which is where I went my sophomore year of high school.  In the grey shirt is Elder Nay and he is from Kearns, Utah and went to Kearns High School where Jeff and I coached and I taught last year.  Small world I guess!

Nursery

Here is what we have done so far on the baby's room.  Jeff put up the curtain rod and curtains all by himself while I was at work one day.  I painted a bunch of picture frames to eventually put the baby's pictures in.  We also got a canopy and are actually gonna put the crib under it, but we haven't bought a crib yet, so for now we have the bassinet in there.  All of the furniture was already in the house we are renting and we went around and moved what we wanted into this room.  The reclining chair is a little old, but it is soooo comfortable and will be perfect for nursing.  The little lamp, we got at ikea.  I got the two stuffed bears at garage sales.  I am going to paint the small chair that the tiny bear is sitting on pink. The little bear you may notices is wearing a diaper.  This is the bear that Jeff practices on.  Just Kidding.  I wanted to put the diaper on something because it was so little and cute.  I am also painting the outlet covers and three medium sized canvases.  The thing I spent the most time on though and that I am the most proud of is the name sign I made.  I bought letters at Michaels and painted them and glued them on a background and hung them with ribbon.  It turned out sooo adorable, but we don't want to tell the name yet, so that will have to be posted later.  I don't know how much longer we will be able to keep the name a secret, but I am holding out today at least.  If anyone has any other ideas for our little nursery, they are more than welcome!! We still have about 16 weeks til the baby is born and so we have plenty of time for projects:) Stay tuned, because later this week I will be posting my 6 month belly pictures and I have definitely grown!  We love and miss all you guys, come visit us if you ever have the chance!

CARS

So our little nephew Will loves the movie cars and I saw it when I was on a road trip with Jeff's sister's family about a year ago.   When we drive in to Elberton from Athens, there is this big field with a whole bunch of cars painted very similarly to the characters in the movie.  I think it is so cute, so I finally made Jeff stop to get pictures of it.  I think if you click on the pictures it will make them bigger and you can see more detail.

Temple trip

Last weekend we decided we should probably make a trip to the temple before football started.  We woke up really early and stopped at garage sales along the way.  We found some baby clothes and books so that was good.  When we got to the temple, nobody was there.  Last time I tried to go to the temple with my brother Aaron and we found out that the temples were closed on Mondays, so I knew they weren't closed on Saturdays.  There was a guy in the booth so we asked what was going on and he said they were closed for their yearly two week cleaning- what are the chances??? SO we drove two hours for pretty much nothing!! We did get some nice pictures by the temple and stopped at IKEA and COSTCO on the way home, so I guess with the garage sale stops, it was okay.  I have learned my lesson though, and will check on the schedule online before I go from now on!
