A Match Made in Heaven

This pink dress is one of my favorite summer dresses. A month or so ago, Jeff and I were grocery shopping at Super Wal-Mart in Hartwell and saw the little baby dress which matches perfectly! I had to buy it! It is actually for 12 months old, but I put it on Cheyenne yesterday anyway, and you could barely tell it was too big. I guess it will fit her for a long time!! Jeff has always teased me, because I will always match what he is wearing, (not exactly), just if he is wearing blue, then I will want to wear a blue shirt or something. So I made Jeff wear is pink tie to match the family!

I wasn't planning on posting this, but this reminds me of Jeff and my first date. I met him on a Sunday and he asked me out for Monday night. On Monday, I went out and bought a new shirt to wear. That night he shows up at the door and we are wearing the exact same outfit!!!! See picture below. I swear we did not plan this, we barely even knew each other! Our polo shirts were both navy blue, and yellow striped with a white collar. I couldn't believe it when I opened the door. I had my mom take a picture, but I didn't want to change, because I had just bought the shirt and I didn't feel like I had brought any other cute clothes home with me. So we went out for dinner at the Nuthouse Grill and I saw someone I knew from volleyball and was so embarrassed because we looked like we were in high school going to morp or tolo or something... after dinner we were going to a movie and still had some time, so luckily Jeff decided to change his clothes. Then we saw Mona, Lisa, Smile and Jeff took me home.

Running in the Rain

Today we woke up and could hear the rain. It was POURING! Along with loud thunder. Jeff and I considered skipping our runs... it did not look too inviting outside! If you have never seen the rain in Georgia, look at my previous post called "Georgia Rain" and you will see a video of how hard it was raining.  It looks like a rainforest! After putting it off and putting it off, we finally decided we should go, so I went first, then Jeff (we figured Cheyenne probably didn't want to be soaking wet for over an hour). Ten minutes into my run, the ipod stopped working, even though it was in a waterproof case... luckily I dropped it off at a friend's store and they started to dry it out for me. By the end of the first two miles, I was DRENCHED, but it was so much fun! Probably the most fun run I have been on since I got pregnant. It was 60 degrees out the whole time, so I was never cold. All the streets were starting to flood, so I got to splash around a lot. It just gave me something to think about the whole time, and it made me feel more hard core, haha... I loved it! Jeff ran 10 miles and I ran 8. That is the farthest Jeff has ever ran, I am so proud of him! He is so fast too, he is a natural. Anyway, our run was a perfect activity for a rainy saturday:) Oh- and when I got home, I was surprised with my new running shoes I ordered online. I LOVE them! They are so light and they are all black- fierce! We ordered Jeff's a while ago, so hopefully his will come on Monday, because both of our shoes had way too many miles on them to run safely. They are shot!

Thankful Thursday

The Power Of Gratitude Will Unleash Your Ability To Attract
  1. I am thankful for airplanes and cars so I can visit friends and family:)
  2. I am thankful that Cheyenne knows how to smile and talk, it is so much fun!
  3. I am thankful for pest control so we don't have cockroaches and mice overtaking our house.
  4. I am thankful for our huge house we can rent for cheap.
  5. I am thankful for music.
  6. I am thankful for sleep and nights when Cheyenne lets me sleep the whole night.
  7. I am thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!
  8. I am thankful for flat irons and hair color, for those of us who are blessed with frizzy dull hair.
  9. I am thankful for frozen treats. I love the coldness of anything frozen... grapes, yogurt, ice cream, popsicles, etc.
  10. I am thankful for my blog so I can easily document our lives!!

What are you thankful for today?

Wishful Wednesday

Wish_upon_a_star
I got this from Cadance's blog along with my Thankful Thursday post idea:) I don't know if this is just me, but day to day things come into my head that I wish I could have or do, etc... I know it is important to separate your wants from your needs, so on Wednesdays I get to dream about some of my wishes:) Since my Thankful Thursday Post is 10 things, I think I will have my Wishful Wednesday post be 5 things:)

  1. I wish I had a cupcake tin. I have been wanting to make yummy cupcakes for a long time, especially since cake mix is so cheap! Anyway, we don't have a cupcake tin, I think I will have to hit up some garage sales to try to find one... think I can get one under a dollar? That will be my goal... hopefully we will have some cupcakes in our home before the end of the summer...mini muffin pan
  2. This finding pictures thing is taking too long... I wish I had one of those long pretty flowing Old Navy summer dresses that I could wear over my swimsuit, or with one of their pretty colored cardigans so I could also wear it to church... I love that white floral print dress with maybe the blue cardigan. They are all so fun though...anyone else like this new old navy style???
  3. I wish there weren't wild onions in the grass in Georgia. BARF!! I LOVE the smell of fresh cut lawns in Washington or even Utah... it reminds me of soccer or track season, I think of running and hot sun and summer! Here there are wild onions in the grass and when people start mowing their lawns it smells like disgusting rotten onions!! When I was pregnant it made me nauseous, and so now when I smell it I still get that sick feeling, ugh!
  4. I wish more people would come visit us! We do live in the middle of nowhere, but are within driving distance of lots of fun things!!!
  5. Oh, I almost forgot, this should be number 1 on my wish list, but I am not going to spend the time to rearrange. I wish I had some sort of gps running watch, even if it was the oldest edition, but the kind that tells you your current pace, and distance you have ran... there are even some that will tell you how to get back to where you started, which would be very helpful for running on vacation. I just think I could be more efficient in my daily runs if I could know how fast I was going the whole time and not just by doing the math AFTER the run is over, when there is no chance to make adjustments....
What do you wish for...?????

Johnny Jumper

I had to show examples of Cheyenne's tummy time and here she is in the johnny jumper... she just started to really "talk" today. All day she has been making the high pitch cooing sound- I love it! She is so sweet and so much fun!

Tummy Time

This is Cheyenne during tummy time. As you can see she starts to get very angry and frustrated. I help her turn over, and then I act very excited and she gets so proud of herself every time. I think she is starting to try to turn over on her own, but you can't really tell, she can't really make much movement yet, she just grunts and you can tell she is straining.

Cheyenne's chair

When I was pregnant, I got this little chair at a garage sale, then I painted it to match Cheyenne's nursery... I don't think Cheyenne likes it...

Thankful Thursday

I got this idea from Cadance Rowland's blog. I think it is always a good idea to count your blessings, so what a good habit to do it every week! Every week I am going to list 10 different things I am thankful for. And Brooke (Yates, my roommate my freshman year at Dixie), I'll bet you can guess what will be first on my list!
  1. I am thankful for the sun. One of my favorite things has always been to wake up to the sun shining in your window on your face, seriously the best feeling in the world! Or so I thought... today it was topped. Cheyenne woke up hungry at 5:30 this morning (she went to bed early last night), so I fed her and of course put her in bed with me to snuggle. This morning I woke up with the sun shining on my face and I was sandwiched between my adorable husband and baby girl, I am thankful for this morning!
  2. I am thankful for my family. My husband, daughter, mom, dad, in-laws, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. I love them all so much!
  3. I am thankful for my friends new and old, sometimes the kindness of other people amazes me!
  4. I am thankful for exercise, the best feeling in the world!
  5. I am thankful for food, healthy and unhealthy, I love food!
  6. I am thankful for my husband's job. At a time like this where so many people are struggling with unemployment, I am so thankful my husband has a job that he loves and that can support our family. I am so thankful to him for working so hard everyday for our family:)
  7. I am thankful for hot water, I love taking hot showers when our house is so freezing.
  8. I am thankful for coupons and rebates!
  9. I am thankful for tax rebates, and really hope we will get one, I think that is why I am putting off doing our taxes, I am worried this will be the first year we actually have to pay them:(
  10. I am thankful for our awesome jogging stroller, my life would suck without it!
I am thankful for many more things, stay tuned for next week...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had a great St. Patrick's Day. We celebrated by wearing green and making some cookies for the neighbors and the people we visit/home teach. It was a good day:)

Johnny Jumper

So you aren't supposed to use the Johnny Jumper until they are about 4 months old. Cheyenne is 3 months old, but I have been so excited about it I wanted to see if she could do it.  She liked it when we made it bounce for her but she didn't quite understand how to make it bounce herself. She just dangled there. Oh and I think they are supposed to be able to sit up in it, but she is like leaned forward against it. It was cute, but I don't think she is quite ready for it yet.  I am going to try it out every week until she gets it, I love these things! Whenever she does get it, I will post a video of her jumping:) Oh and as far as rolling over, she is supposed to be able to do that soon, but she isn't even close. I put her down for tummy time and she can lift her head from side to side for a while, but then she just starts to cry and cry until I pick her up. Should I just let her cry? I let her cry for about 5 minutes, but then I feel bad, and she starts getting really out of breath and puts her face on the blanket, I get scared she will suffocate or something. How old was your baby when it learned to roll over? How should I help her along? Anyway, other than that she is doing great and getting cuter everyday (to me anyway)!!! I just LOVE her!!

Basketball Season is over

Last weekend was the third round of state, and we pulled within 6 in the 4th quarter, but unfortunately ended up losing by 16 to a very huge Columbia team. They had won state in 4A 3 out of the past 4 years and just got moved down to 3A this year. They were a very good team, but since most of our players are returning next year, we hope to get them next year. We saw the other side of the bracket play and they were not very good, so I am going to say we took 5th place in state (there were only 8 teams left). The first picture is all the coaches, they looked so sharp in their matching jackets. The game was 3 1/2 hours away, and didn't start until like 9 pm so we got a hotel room. Cheyenne and I hung out in the room while we waited for game time. I set her on the edge of the bed on her boppy and she was just looking up watching tv, it was the cutest thing... about 5 minutes later, she was out! Unfortunately, Cheyenne had a hard time sleeping that night, which caused me to get very little sleep and I woke up sick the next day and now Cheyenne caught it from me and is sick as well:( Its no fun being sick! Anyway, it was a great basketball season, but I will be honest and say it is nice to have it be over. Jeff just gets to come home right after school and spend some time with us. He will have the rest of March and April off and then football starts in May and goes until November!

Our little gymnast:)

Cheyenne learned her first trick. I don't know when she learned to be upside down, but now she can't get enough of it. I have to be careful when I am holding her because she will fling herself backward randomly so she can be upside down and she never gets tired of it. When I see her face start to turn colors I will bring her up to get the color back in her face and she just wants to be upside down again. It is so funny! It looks so uncomfortable but I swear she loves it! She is going to be our little gymnast I think!

Cheyenne's new outfit

Cheyenne is just starting to fit into her 3-6 month clothes which must mean she is pretty average size since she just turned 3 months old two days ago. Here is her first 3-6 month outfit she has worn. It is from my best friend Natalie, it looks so cute on her:) I think the shoes are from one of my other best friends, Christine. I love dressing her up, she is like my little dolly! Thanks everyone for all the cute clothes to choose from!!!

Elite Eight!!!!

Jeff's team won tonight 85-49, I think at half time it was 49 to 10 or something like that. It was a complete blowout, but so fun to watch. Now they are in the elite eight of the state tournament (which started with 32 teams). They play this Saturday in Dalton, GA which is right by Chatanooga, TN. The team they are going to play is really good and they won 3 of the 4 past state titles in 4A and are the defending 4A state champions, but just got dropped a classification to 3A. It is going to be a tough game, but we are so excited and I think it will be a good game! Here is a picture of Jeff before the game:

This was Cheyenne the whole game:

Snow Day!

It snowed for the first time this year and it was so pretty. Even though it snowed yesterday, Jeff got today off school which was great. We slept in, went running separately (which meant we didn't have to push the stroller and Cheyenne got to stay in the warm house), and relaxed around the house. It was wonderful. Cheyenne is getting very good at holding up her little head. It was a great day:)
